Cornell Wells Sr., Principal and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Wells is a retired Air Force Acquisition Officer with over 30 years of progressive government and private industry experience.  He has been instrumental in leading diverse teams of analysts in providing cost analysis and project management solutions to clients.    Prior to establishing IMSolutions, Mr. Wells held several defense acquisition management positions that include Manager at KPMG Consulting, Assistant Secretary of the Navy (ASN) and Program Manager at NAVSEA.  Mr. Wells is experienced in using cost estimating, earned value management, risk management and business process-reengineering techniques to identify cost, economic, management, schedule and budget solutions.  Some of his industry accomplishments include Business Manager for the Medium Range Air-to-Surface Cruise Missile program in the Joint Cruise Missile Program Office for the United States Air Force.  Mr. Wells developed cost estimates and budgets for projects worth over $1.4 billion.  He has also provided cost estimating and performance measurement support to the Naval Air Systems Command Cost Estimating and Analysis Organization (AIR 4.2.1).

Mr. Wells holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Economics from Shaw University, Raleigh, NC, and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Western England College, Springfield, MA.  He has fortified his knowledge as a program management and cost analysis expert after having attended extensive courses in Contract Performance Measurement, Cost Estimating, and Contract and Acquisition Management at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) and Defense Systems Management College (DSMC).

Since 2001, Mr. Wells has served as Principal of IMSolutions, LLC, a veteran-owned small disadvantaged business 8(a), specializing in providing management and cost analysis support to government and commercial agencies.  IMSolutions’ exponential growth in both revenue employees and clientele over the last five years can be attributed to the management expertise, leadership and industry insight of Mr. Wells.

Mr. Wells’ community involvement includes member of the Prince William County Regional Chamber of Commerce, community advocate for school age child mentoring in Prince William County, member of the Society of Cost Estimating and Analysis—Washington, DC Chapter as well as affiliations in numerous professional organizations.
